While gardening, I stared at an unattractive concrete wall near a gutter. I didn’t want to plant in the area and block drainage. What could be done to make that space appealing?
Then came the idea to experiment with trompe l'oeil, which creates an illusion of depth on a flat surface. The French term means "to deceive the eye."
While my bunnies may not hop off the wall, I am happy to have tried something new. The project began with rabbit pictures printed from the internet. The background evolved.
Where is a space you can transform? Whether you use words or dance or color, brighten a spot with your imagination. The result doesn’t have to be perfect to inspire others to see differently.
Today’s Bible verse:
“Every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old” (Matthew 13:52).
